The National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has denied allegations that he labelled President Bola Tinubu, Senator George Akume, and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as corrupt while serving as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The denial comes in response to a TikTok video by Hajia Naja’atu Muhammad, leader of the Northern Star.
The lady had accused Ribadu of hypocrisy for serving in Tinubu’s government despite allegedly castigating him as corrupt during his tenure as EFCC chairman.
Responding, Ribadu, through his lawyer, Dr. Ahmed Raji, SAN, described the allegations as malicious and demanded a public apology and retraction within seven days.
The letter stated that Ribadu never publicly or privately called out Tinubu, Akume, or Kalu for corruption.
According to the letter, Hajia Muhammad’s allegations are not only false but also inciteful of violence towards Ribadu. The letter challenged Hajia Muhammad to provide evidence of her allegations, which have damaged Ribadu’s reputation and goodwill.
